Dwelling nearby

Romans 7:5 New English Translation (NET Bible)

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful desires, aroused by the law,

were active in the members of our body to bear fruit for death.

Dwelling nearby

Well, my brother, you showed up again to show my many flaws.

Most of them in silence but some with a word or two

Is it any wonder that you may be a gift from Heaven?

You churn my flesh where the Spirit shows me the “fool”?

In the church or daily life, you lead me in directions.

Where a “spiritual” man never again should dwell.

To be brought down and to mingle up with others

and let the “cares of the world” cast me under a spell.

Yes, you are really good to be that thorn well placed in time.

How for goodness sake did you get into my "life"?

Unless placed by the Lord, Who in His great compassion

strikes the final blow to remove my stubborn pride.

Nothing much to say if the Lord is part of it

Nothing more to want than a breath of peace

Nothing more to lose than flesh and its desires

Nothing more to wonder except what’s next here.
