Dweller

When you take shelter
Are you running away,
Or are you keeping safe?
When I was young
I wanted an escape
Now that I'm older
I wish I had stayed
Tucked away behind a heavy door
Lie memories of a life before
Outside that lies choas, confusion and often regret
It all seems so different from the way it was imagined in your head
How could this be where all other roads lead?
Where is the innocence we were told to believe?
Was it ever really here or
We're we deceived?
Now I wonder if it's too late to leave
