As the Dust Clears

Standing

silently

aside the pool,

frozen,

I wait to glide

My Body

shivers

with the chill,

though,

I'm warmed

by the Person at My Side

for just one moment

subtly

the world stops,

frozen,

two Bodies collide

I push off

on one Leg, I slide

across the ice,

translucent,

as a sheet of glass

I reach out

to the Person I'm alongside

though No One's there

I turn,

frozen,

I am alone

on ice

the Person I was beside

has left with Another

Their shadow

reflects

off of the one drop I cried
