Due

1 Corinthians 2:9

But just as it is written, “Things that no eye has seen,

or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has

prepared for those who love him.”

Due

Here you are again - I had almost forgotten

The unexpected smiling with eyes that softly glitter

You stepped into my heart and captured imagination

And then you were gone – a vapor quickly smitten

Life is mighty precious – full of surprises

Little of it understood – gentle as a breath

Moving just and slowly of its own choosing

Conceived and waiting like an egg in a nest

All is still confusing as noises are gently humming

A mundane thought of convenience in the air

A pen and some paper next to my computer

Contradiction underlined as all now seems fair

A new day is dawning and it will bring the same

For almost everyone except with some exceptions

Who is to know unless caught in the latter?

When unexpected visits come to personal perception

I guess, think and perceive maybe a little longer

Maybe I’ll be visited by thoughts from far beyond

Today is the day but who is getting stronger?

I can’t say or perceive the dues being paid up front
