Drive

My eyes count the striped white lines

In the middle of the street.

I speed and the lines zoom by faster.

Making my eyes shake

Back

And Forth.

Unable to count anymore,

They become a solid line.

Faster.

My foot accelerates on the pedal.

They disappear

Into the blended gray color of the road.

Full speed ahead.

I lift my eyes.

I am driving faster than ever.

Then I am not driving anymore.

I hear the faint furious beeps of a crashed car.

My crashed car.

My eyes surrender finally,

As a liquid comes over my eyelids as gentle

As a feather.
