Dreams of Humanity

I didn’t sleep well last night. I tossed and turned as I looked back and forth.
All around me, I saw humanity going mad.
Such a sorry sight...
to see their energy wasting away on unnecessary, hurtful actions.
Maybe their hearts have been preserved somewhere in small boxes. But they’ve been left there too long now.
They begin to rot, molding into hatred.
Converting sincerity into malice.
I wish I could reach forward to save them.
Teach them right from wrong again.
But I know they will only strike out against me.
A rabid look in their eyes. Defensive like porcupines.
I can’t attempt to control them. They have no reason in their ways.
A device dictates them. Turns them off or on.
I am not able to help them, so I turn my back and and leave.
I wonder.. Did I try hard enough?
Waking up, I contemplate the ideas I’ve invented in my mind.
It’s strange, asking if it’s only a dream.
The answer is written plainly all around me.
But I will ignore it.
Just like everyone else.
