Dreams

Location

It's there in front of you
Dangling from the sky
A shiny dream that is new
You walk through a valley of thorn and lily
It takes your life away
Still you chase it
You will follow it through hell, fire, and the blistering cold
The want becomes unbearable
It's closer to reach
The light beginning to make it hard to see
You grab it, it's in your palm
You hold it there close to your heart
Open your hand there it is the shiny star that you call your dream
But your heart sinks as the star, your prize, that you call your dream disintegrates right there in your palm
Reminding you that nothing, not even dreams last for long.
