Dreaming in Reality of Reality in Dreams

Cold hands pressed against my waist
A strong grip holding my arms
He breathes heavily into my face
I know nothing will be able to harm
Me when I’m with him
This is what it feels like
Closer than close, skin to skin,
Never had another person so alike.
The energy between him and I
Builds up and up
Life feels like it’s flying by
We are so close.
Then my imagination runs off…
His brawny arms become scrawny
His tall figure becomes tiny
His large, wide eyes become narrow
His steadfast attitude becomes shallow.
I try to think of what it would be like
To have someone different than him
To conjure up an image; to imagine….
We sit by cool flowing water
Out in the open
Then my dreams are slaughtered
I see another girl
Floating through the clouds
Towards him
Screaming very loud,
I lunge forward,
And barely skim
The surface of my dream.
