Dream(e)scape

I’d like to get lost in my dreams

If only they weren’t so horrendous

Yet nothing can be as it seems

My mind often teems

With thoughts so stupendous

I’d like to get lost in my dreams

The inside of me gleams

With chivalrous agendas

Yet nothing can be as it seems

The whole world it deems

That institutions should mend us

I’d like to get lost in my dreams

I’ve written through reams

Nothing to show but dust

Yet nothing is quite as it seems

You see the ink it can clean

The demons inside us

I’d like to get lost in my dreams

Yet nothing can be as it seems

This poem is about:
Me
