A Dream, A Look to the Future

A Dream, A Look to the Future

Oh, how I long for it!

That dream within a dream that is the dream I dream!

What glorious splendor it fills my mind with.

Like the crashing of waves upon the sand my thoughts break

upon one conclusion.

One destiny.

What greatness can be mine?

What road can I not travel?

What can I not do?

Harmony weaves into my conciousness,

whispering subtly into my ear.

Hissing sweet nothings while I sleep.

What grandeur awaits me when I get out of this prison?

Oh greatness! Come unto me and shine your light

Illuminate my troubled past and wipe the slate

Like negatives exposed to sun.

Grant me the glory I wish for so I may be free.

What happiness!

But,

the doubt creeps again,

sowing it's seeds of worry and woe

I must clip these boughes

before the brambles work into the foundation of my dream,

cracking,

crumbling.

Untill the grand fortress that is the house of my aspirations weakens

and comes tumbling down.

I must prune and eradicate these weeds;

I must use confidence and determination as my herbicides.

For as long as those brambles are there, they will have thorns

And you cannot walk with a thorn in your soul!
