Dream Chaser

Dreams are what the future is made of

the thought of being great has got my mind made up

coming from a city where broken dreams are covered by mean mug make up

told to lay down or pay up

Gotta make it out of here

so that my kids can walk down the street with no fears

Gotta get out this city where the river don't flow as often as the mothers tears

I refuse to be in a court room judged by 12 of my peers

One day I'll be able to take off in the leer

I just need one job to take a chance

cuz chances makes champions

and ill give the people a beat that will make them dance

If I can make it out, then the next boy will have a greater chance

and it won't be such a rarity that a song will need to be made about negroes in france

See give me a good look

built tough so the blows of life bounce off at a glance

My parents told me that if I could be anything God willing

Now I have the opportunity to give there prophecy a sweet fulfilling

All I need is one job and I can change the struggles of my life into a life worth living
