(poems go here) The moon seems so far away tonight
I apologize for things I think I said
I know those words weren’t right
Some thoughts just won’t leave my head

The night air is so very cold
I took the chance on patience
But patience makes a young man old
And I can’t live that long with an absence

Of love in my life, love without strife
Smiling without tears, beauty for years

The street lights are growing dimmer
The wind is speaking in rhyme
“In this game of lonely losers
Heartache can last a lifetime.”

I find myself staring at my favorite photo
If only you were next to me tonight
I could dream away on my favorite pillow
And for just one night, everything could be alright

With the love in my life, love without strife
Smiling without tears, beauty for years

I’m finally at my front door, if only I could find my keys
I can hear my friend calling me again, they need my help
I what I can for everyone, eager to please
Sometimes I feel like an insignificant whelp

My bed seems like such a welcome relief
In my dreams I don’t have to hurt
And there is pure joy, no matter how brief
Now what was that girls name, the one in the hoopskirt

She seemed sad to be looking so beautiful
My memory is always so dismal
