DRAINING THE PAST

Everytime I look in his eyes
I see love
But I remember
The lies , The pain
The heartaches, frustrations
That you made me undergo

Whenever he speaks
I find honesty in him
But give a benefit of doubt
Because you also
Sounded real but yet untrue

I try to drain my past
I try to forget you
I feel like opening
A new book of love
And read and write
New love topics
But you're always in my head
Always making me
Remember the pain
But I have to drain my past
Am draining my past
And start a new story.
Let the past be behind
And never hinder me
From achieving what I need
I drain the past
