Discrimination Nation

Change:

Now that’s something I’d love to see.

But why is it that this six letter word

In a way has lost some of its meaning?

Change:

I’d like it in the form of

Not being required to put my ethnicity on an application.

I’d love to see it when

People can finally accept that a black man is the leader of a nation.

I’d like to attend it

When my friend can marry the man he loves in any state.

I’d like to have it

As an option to not have a baby if I have been raped.

I’d like to see change in store mangers

That don’t follow me in a store because of my color.

I’d like to hear it when

Instead of the n word, people use the word ‘brother’.

I’d like to spend it

When my paycheck isn’t cut because I am a woman.

I’d like it in the courtroom

Where minorities aren’t guilty until proven.

I’d like to discuss it

With a man because feminism applies to anybody.

I’d like for it to be recognized

When people finally see this nation is for everybody.

But I’m obviously jumping the gun with this piece.

I’m asking too much of society to treat everyone like human beings.

So it’s obviously too much in the twenty-first century,

To ask for others to be treated with some decency.

And we all throw away this information like waste,

We conveniently forget that we all came from the same place.

Whether you believe in evolution,

Or you swear on the Creation;

It is a biological fact that we’re the same from every nation

And it’s messed up how some still have to ask for representation.

So I need change like a need a good education,

So I can raise my children in a hate-free nation.

When you say to my face discrimination isn’t trying to survive,

I’ll out point some YouTube comments to prove that it is very well alive.
