Different for the Same
my stepdad screams in the living room,
alcohol clinging strong on his breath.
my mother weeps in her bedroom,
tears burning through holes in her skin.
my brother rubs his eyes at work,
insomnia heavy on his mind.
i stare blankly at white walls,
numbness gaining feeling from swelling skin.
different ways
for the same
endless cries for help.
