Differences

Sticking out like a sore thumb

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know i'm different

Looking for confirmation

Looking for a reason

As Echoes of silent voices bounce back at me

I asked the question:

Why Am I Here?

Dear Daddy,

Pay attention, like a cat clawing at your leg

Im clawing, and scratching for your attention

Can’t you see?

I am not some beer can to be crush and tossed when you’re finished with it

I am your child, your little girl you watched grow like a lonely rose on a hollow vine

But at some time, some point

I began fighting with a game on tv

And somehow i lost,

I know I’m different, I know I’m not them

But Dear Daddy, Please see

That i just want to be here, i want to be seen

Cause clearly daddy, I’m apart of you

And you’re apart of me

But….Why Can’t You See?

Sticking out like a sore thumb

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to he’s different

Looking for confirmation

Looking for a reason

As echoes of silent voices bounce back at him

He asks the question:

Why am I here?

Dear Mama,

Pay attention, like a stray dog barking for a piece of scrap

He’s barking, and whining for your attention

Can’t you see?

He is not some lipstick smeared across your wrinkling lips

He is your child, your little boy you watched grow up like thorn on a hollow vine

But at some point, some time

He began fighting with the daily soap operas

And somehow, he lost

He knows he’s different, he knows he’s not him

But Dear mama, Please see

That he just wants to be here, he just wants to be seen

Cause clearly mama, He’s apart of you

And You’re apart of him

But…. Why can’t you see?
