I am soft and delicate, I tie my hair up in messy top knots that tickle your face when I lay on your chest, I burn candles and occasionally myself, I like night drives in the city, and I like sitting on the edges of tall buildings and looking at the lights below. I like recklessness and adventure and somehow im always covered in glitter.

You liked soft, you like delicate. You called me your baby, your angel. You liked sweet and tender and you liked to stroke my cheek when you kissed me. I am small and needy and you were okay with that, more okay with it than anyone else. You liked staying up late just to stare at my face and call me beautiful, and watch the blush spread across my face. You like baseball and ridiculous frat boy shorts. You like adventure and you like leaving.

I never listened to people who said that girls are attracted to boys who are like their fathers, but my father was good at breaking promises, breaking hearts, and running away. Just like my father you told me you adore me and left in the dead of night. Just like my father you stole my heart and took it with you, you called me an angel, your angel. Can I go home? I miss the clouds.
