Devil

I try to run but it finds me
it slips inside and takes over
I tell it to leave
But it stays and kills a clover

I tell you to run, save yourself,
but you stay, and it pulls out a gun
I yell at you to run
It pulls the trigger

I close my eyes,
When I open them, there your body lies
The puddle of blood deepens
I fall to the ground and curse

It pulls out a frag granade
And threatens to use it if I don't obey
I shrug and say, "this is me,
My heart is black indeed"

Something haunting within these words, with something deeper than it seems. I like the confusion I have between whether the devil is inside you or a different body all together. These is something that forewarns when you think of it in that sense. I enjoyed the flow of the words as well as the format of the poem.
