Derivative

the limit as the change in x approaches zero equals f of x plus the change in x

minus f of x times g of x all over the change in x

For most of us math is a blood eyed  monster.

With skin covered in decaying, ground up guts and cottage cheese brains.

The stench of human flesh oozing out of its green sharpened teeth.

We are cast under the a grim shadow when face to face with its prevailing height

All we hear is the ominous growl of a demon hiding under our beds.

Haunting us where ever we go

At the movies

While we drive home

On the toilet

Math terrifies every bone in our body

Our skull hardens at the thought of dividing a quadrilateral equation by the cube root of the natural log of i.

Our tibbulas knock together when the word derivative is mentioned

But why are we so afraid of derivatives?

A derivative is simply something that is originated off of another source

You do this because of that

It is something we do everyday

We don’t order a side of fries because we want to fit into the size 2 jeans like Paris Hilton

We don’t wait for a ring to give someone everything we have because 2 shots of tequila and red wine are all we need

We decide that instead of telling someone how we really feel we need to hide the truth in the closet like Michael who realized that he was more than just friends with Tommy

Our actions are derived from what society wants us to become

A mold to cast around our broken down and beaten bodies

Conforming into the perfect model society wants to see.

Solving the complex equations to create the outcome they want

They are a calculator

Solving every equation into an acceptable value

Taking only seconds to determine what we will become for the rest of our lives

Programming every function so that we can never change our outcome

We will continue to be just a small part in a longer equation created by society that we cant understand
In math you can use the variable u to substitute for long abstract terms in an equation

So when you insert u for f of x plus the change in x minus f of x times g of x all over the change in x

It simply becomes the limit of the change in u

That is placed on you, by you

Condensed  into a vowel

Our names, personalities and aspirations have been substituted by a single letter.
