In Death, My Enemy No More.

Location

Side by side,

In the earth's deep hold,

Soldiers who've died,

Their stories untold.

At once time they clashed,

But those fights have long passed,

Now they lay together,

Peaceful at last.

"Why did we fight?"

They wonder,

"When our futures were bright,"

Their lives lost to a single blunder.

Now the world moves on,

With each passing dawn,

Their sacrifices forgotten,

And loved ones long gone.

Once soldiers and now friends,

Whisper to each other after bitter ends,

Lay back and watch as life's bell tolls,

Held safee in death's sanctuous folds.
