Dear Old Friend

Dear old friend,

Its been so long.

You and I were once one in the same.

Now when you come around I fade away.

Dear old friend,

I'm sorry for all I've done.

I miss your laughter,

your hope that kept you warm.

I am only warmed by the anger

by the pain.

Dear old friend,

Where did you go?

You leave images of dragons and flowers for me to find.

I leave piles of papers.

You leave happiness.

I leave numb.

Dear old friend,

I wish you were here again.

I wish we'd never split apart.

I want to be together again

one in the same.

Now I walk alone,

vanishing slowly as you return

we are not the same.

You are my happiness,

I am your heartbreak.

We are both necessary.

The two personalitites that make up this girl.

But we are not one in the same anymore.
