A DEAR FRIEND
There are many sayings about friendship
“A friend is closer than a brother”
“Love one another.”

But, when you look deeper into the matter
There is just something that no word
Can define or has really been heard.

When a friend looks into the eyes
The windows of the heart
Friendship is set apart

For, when face to face
A friend looks on
A friend moves past anything done.

A friend has such a big shoulder
To cry on all the time
Who could separate a relationship of this kind

A friend’s warmth and compassion
Melt over a touch, the face
A hug,what an awesome embrace.

Love pours out as tears
Each partner feeling the other’s pain
All wrong, sadness, hurt wash away like rain.

On the flip side
When things seems such bliss
There is a joy no other shares like this

For bright eyes and a happy face
Lure any soul looking on
To partake of friendship’s fun.

It is difficult NOT to notice
All that is seen between the two
Hope, love, a prayer this much is true.

If a friend is what you seek
Although difficult to find
You will be blessed with one of a kind.

A friend is no acquaintance
A friend is so much more
A dear friend is purely an open door.

The Nature of a Splinter

The nature of a splinter
Cause really unknown
Focus becomes the center
Watch as this is shown.

Its origin no specifics
No one may ever know
But, one does pick at it
Oh, the process, so slow.

Tiny as it may be
Hurts like a rock in the eye
Pain begins to grow, you see
And, not coming out with a try

Day by day redness and pus
Weary the soul traveled
Distracted and a fuss
Becoming weak, unraveled.

Bandaids, tinctures, water
Anything – make it stop
But, only a splinter
God, why won’t it just pop.

Happy Morning, no pain
Finger feels good, awesome fate
Now all is right
Splinter gone, great!

Lesson to learn from splinter so thin
Eating away the processes, the skin
Person to person communication
Tapping, tapping, tapping within.

Curl of the lip, snarl of the face
Wince of the eye, grows the gossip
Obsession of thought, need for space
Dry, parched – water, water, need a sip.

Talk in the office and at home
Grinch like quality, bah humbug
Pace, pace, weary traveler, bum
Ripped right out from under the rug.

Page 2…Nature of a Splinter, Poem

What to do now, worn out’
Gotta work with these people
Scream, kick, just wanna shout
Do we need to go to the steeple.

In fact the splinter somehow made a sound
Didn’t know this was possible, really
It was so obvious to all around
All knew, spectators must think, how silly!

When it came down to it, the splinter so small
Was never really as it seemed
It was not even a splinter at all
Communication was the key, it was deemed.

The nature of the splinter
Is to cause one to see deeply inside
It forces the viewer to find their own center
Yes, it is a painful, road tough, long ride.

But, lesson learned from an annoying thing
One can make it better, their life’s way
Open the eyes, to one’s very own being
Each life is touched by the splinter every day.

Remember, the splinter when trials come along
It is so small, painful, difficult to find
Grinds on the skin, heart, and mind something terrible
But, in the end will come out, doesn’t have to bind!!
