The (Deadly) Memory of You

I've heard the phrase countless times.

It goes something like,

"Cheaters never prosper."

I have now lived long enough

and seen enough,

experienced enough

to know there is a way around everything.

It's

not

true.

My own flesh and blood cheated on another one of my own.

He's happily married as the memory of him lingers in my home, 15 years later.

But now you too.

What a mistake you were.

I'm glad God as shown me that He used you as a lesson in my life,

nothing more.

You are nothing to me.

You are a part of my past.

Simply a stepping stone on my path to success.
