The days I remember

Sipping on Kool-Aid
Baking in the hot sun
Sweet smell of summer
The feeling of the breeze
The wind in my face
Cools down the fire
These are the days I remember
The days when I could go out
And know summer feels
No cold no chill
Just me and my blackened skin
Catching a sun tan every step I take
Back burning from the blaze
Back in the house
I feel the cool AC
Tired as ever
Going to sleep
The very next day
I repeat the same thing
These are the days I remember
The days when I was a kid
Today is different
The day is new
