The day I found my love

The night I sat alone in that room,

I read  aloud what that text showed,

I heard that sweet, gentle, voice on the phone.

A voice whispering welcome home.

I anxiously waited for that call the next day,

I heard that day is to come to meet someday,

I am scared to be hurt again,

but your voice whispered welcome home.

I saw you walk past my room,

I know you felt awkward to see a granny laying there,

Yet it was a woman of 32,

and you whispered welcome home.

We did not have all the time in the world that day ,

the five hours was amazing enough

It was as though we met before

and that voice rang in my head,

To continue the journey

we may never grow apart,

and that sweet, gentle voice is still on that phone

whispering we are home.
