Darkness

Darkness comes in to

Eat the light

So keep within you

All fear tonight

For the hunt is on

This coming winter

And there'll be nowhere

To run

When it catches you

Do not wish to wither

Or drown in darkness

They'll only engulf you

Forever more

Haven't you heard

What they do to people?

They rip and tear

And gnaw and bite

Leave you scared hopless tonight

Singing claws come out to snatch you

Eager souls want you to join them

Hear their stories of how

They were caught

Never followed what I told them

Their pride condemning them for naught

Hear what I say!

And hear what I dont

When the dark creeps in

And devours the light

Keep a ray deep within you

For if they sense even a slither fear

Don't be surprised to find them curled by your ear

Close your ears from their hungry whispers

For they are conniving and greedy

Yearning for your soul

Soon no one will see the life they stole

From your unresponding body

As it lops and lolls

Alone, wanting, needing so desperately

To be heard

While your soul screams, terrible cries

Sorrow on, my poor, poor friend

You misfollowed my directions

Now this is your end!
