Darkness

My mind is a prison,
Seeping darkness from within,
The thoughts seem to consume me,
How I just want to tear a blade across my skin,
I fell in love with a silver-tongued devil,
Who enticed me with empty promises and sin,
He left me with nothing inside,
Except for bitterness and hate,
He took the life from my eyes,
Telling me death was soon to be my fate,
I accepted him for what he was,
For I knew this to be true,
Death is inevitable,
And it will soon come for me and you.
