The Darkest Path

I look down the path

I have chosen.

Uncertainty fills my thoughts.

It is dark, foggy,

 dying trees on either side.

The immense darkness

envelops my surroundings.

Somewhat a living horor movie.

A phantom being,

a ghastly figure,

floats hauntingly,

guiding me to a lake.

Mist hangs in the chilly air,

blanketing the soil,

giving mere existance an eerie feeling.

My reflection stares

deep into my soul

off the mirrored lake.

The stars twinkled dimly

through the fog of twilight.

That just goes to prove,

there is light

even on the darkest path.
