I love to dance
Alone in a sundress in the rain
I found peace in naming the clouds
In surrendering to the little pleasures in life
And in giving hugs that tell stories
Then there you were
With two left feet
Looking to the future without seeing the day pass you by
Full of your own greatness
And I loved you
From the very start
You and I have been intertwined by fate
So I can’t help it when I play with your strings
I’ve been waiting so long for someone to join me in a dance
I’ll teach you the steps you gave me a lifetime ago
I’ll bathe you in smiles and promises of morning breath kisses
And bad jokes mixed with lovemaking
I’ll be your light
You’ll be the rhythm
And we’ll rule the dance floor
Slow dancing to Bob Marley
Praying for the night to last forever
