...On a Daily Basis

I want them to tell me to reach for the stars,
Because the sky is the limit,
because they know I can,
because they love me.
That I'm not bound by my circumstances,
And to tell me it's alright if I make a mistake,
... That's how I learn.
To tell me to have fun
Because that's what kids are supposed to do,
And to be courageously strong and confident in everything that I do,
because I'm beautiful,
... And they believe in me.
For them to say I'm free to be who I want to be
Because that's how much they love me
With their smiling faces and soft eyes
... That is what I wish my parents told me
