Curse

Sorrow swallows me whole

Leaving a vacant space in my chest

Reminding me of how I left

You fell so freely and easily

While I stood watching on the cliff

Refusing to take the risk

Your soft words whispered

Like a gentle breeze

But they couldn’t move me

I was planted so firmly into the ground

My roots buried deep

I could have never been yours to keep

I am like a curse

I cast a spell

And under my jinx your soft heart fell
