Curiosity Killed The Cat

I am hopeful and curious.

I wonder how the city inside me was built.

I hear the moonlit serenades of toads,

and it reminds me of home.

I see the dew drop diamonds on the grass.

I want to know what it is like to live.

I am hopeful and curious.

I pretend to understand things I have never known.

I feel awe as the snowflakes melt in my hand,

and it reminds me of places I will go.

I touch blankets of soft silk on the ground.

I worry I will never reach my destination.

I cry out the mistakes I have made.

I am curious and hopeful.

I understand the importance of respect.

I say I will surpass expectations.

I dream of far off places.

I try to touch the constellations.

I hope I will not burn.

I am curiously hopeful.
