Crystal

Commonplace commodities
Relax on your concrete hands
Supported by your
Caring heart

Heaving breaths
Take hours to swish rhythmically
Between in and out
But I'm still here
All the while

Your eyes twinkle like crystal
Reflecting a full moon
Through a windowpane
And onto the floor
Extending all the way
Across the valley that bridges
My heart and yours

We seek an ephemeral joy
Found only by the purest of heart
To set off takes determination
And experience
Which we haven't acquired
But who's counting?
Who says we cannot take a
Leap of faith?

This glass of water
Shines in the sunlight
Making dappled shadows on the
Ground surrounding it
If we reside in the night
We must slumber in the day
So we can play around
While the lions sleep
