Cross for the Seasons

As I cross my fingers
I look eagerly upwards
The blue edges of hope
Expanding bands of shadow on the growing horizon
Marveling at delicate swirls
Of leaf and color
Crisp like an autumn breeze

As I cross my fingers
I smile to remember
The golden lines of happiness
Shifting ribbons of flame on the heavenly realm
Wondering at fiery spirals
Of ember and sun
Warm like a summer day

As I cross my fingers
I huddle a little closer
The white fringes of hubris
Drifting columns of snow on a frozen field
Speculating the cold tendrils
Of icicle and frost
Frigid like a winter night

As I cross my fingers
I laugh to forget
The green outlines of harmony
Broadening pillars of light on a quiet plain
Pondering the cozy whorls
Of flower and cumulus
Vibrant like a spring blossom
