Cries, Tongue, and Shutdowns

Tears represent how much damage my heart has experienced,

Tongue tells the stories that I’m trying to convey to you,

Shutting down symbolizes me giving up on you,

So if you want to know me,

Study my cries, my tongue and my shutdowns,

To me — tears are unexplained emotions,

That my heart can’t bare to say,

When I cry I’ve been hurt to my core,

So treat my heart like a package labeled fragile,

Because its like I’m trying to fit a puzzle without all its pieces,

So if you want to know me,

Please study my cries, my tongue and my shutdowns,

For me — my tongue is the best way for communication,

It tells all my feelings and what I’m thinking,

Its also the easiest way for me to have a voice,

But what good is it to have a voice,

If it isn’t heard,

So I try to put my tongue into actions,

But even they can go unheard,

Thus I wear a facade,

Hoping that someone hears and sees the words that I’m trying to get out,

Over the music that plays coming from their mouth,

So if you want to know me,

Study my cries, my tongue and my shutdowns,

When I shut down on you,

That’s me telling you that you lost me,

So in your mind have a funeral for me,

In order for you to remember all the good times that you once had with me,

Because like the dead once I’m gone I’m gone,

And trust that I will never be back,

Therefore you need to cherish every moment that you have with me,

If you want to know me,

Please study my cries, my tongue and my shutdowns,
