Creaking Gears

My heart you framed with gold

My teeth you molded out of the finest jade

But what is it worth to me?

When I can’t speak

And my dreams you oiled down

And my lungs you shaped out of the brightest silver

But what is it worth to me?

When I can’t breath

I could show you how to move

But you’re not interested no more

And I could draw you a picture with tears

But you’re not interested no more

You mapped out my every move, you did

What a pain it must be

Your greatest creation falling apart

Lost in the tick-tock of your clock

You think you have all the power

And yet my pulse runs fast

You still think you have all the answers

And yet I don’t wind up like the others

You think that you know me

But you don’t know me like I do

My flesh is still growing fast

Try to call me to your side

I’ll just tick-tock away

Because that's what we do

Those you can't screw with and nail down

We will just tick-tock away
