Count

1, 2, 3

It was only you and me,

Sure, there was a crowd,

Other students screaming loud,

But it was only me and you,

A lovely pair of two.

3, 4, 5

You reminded me I was alive,

Not just a husk dragged around,

Waiting to be put in the ground,

But a flower not yet in bloom,

Forget the inevitable tomb.

6, 7, 8

I always moved as if late,

You reminded me to stop and breath,

If I needed to, take a break and leave

Remember what I'm aiming for,

A spot in our history's lore.

8, 9, 10

I want to do it all again,

To walk into your office earlier

Rather than sit and be a silent worrier,

You wished me off with tears and heart,

But do not worry - forever, we won't be apart.
