James 4:8       New English Translation

8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded.

Control

Defiled I am through sin and also through issues of the soul

Emotions and affections need to be under God’s control

Affection that is not inspired by God’s “Will” will quickly fold

And turns into lust in the flesh and the world’s common goal

He who has not died to the world’s affection

Has not died to anything and that is clearly shown

Yes the world around us is a spiritual reflection

If one does not die to the natural his decaying state goes on

Before our redemption, our desires intertwined with sin

And in my emotional state was mostly controlled by desire

But now as being a Christian I would be carnal within

If my desires ruled my life and I would not be purified by fire
