contort

You want to gather into yourself, curl up and disappear
crumple into the shapes of your used tissues until you too can tuck into the hidden corners of the bathroom (out of reach)
but not unlike paper - you can only fold seven times before you can’t grow any smaller
taking up too much space, leaving too much vulnerable
the pins and needles you feel down your legs and wrapping roughly around your lower back are however, of good intentions
little ghost hands trying to sew you back together, lest your shudders shake apart your spine and leave the parts to scatter across the floor
tiny puzzle pieces that never did quite fit together right
But neither did the rest of you
