Anger bubbling

bursting within me

Why can't I understand

Why can't I comprehend

One equation after another

My heart sinks with every wrong turn

Physics is a trap, Algebra a snare

I circle, I turn

Nevertheless I continue

Nevertheless I move on.

then like a bolt

from heaven

I think

I understand.

Quickly quickly

I scribble and scrawl

Maybe it makes sense

Maybe not at all

I get it, I got it, I have it all.

 

Two weeks later I return to find

my original answer

right.

My heart is broken, my instructor amused

He looks me in the eye

and tells me

to have more

confidence

in

me.

Nevertheless I continue
