Constant battle

1 Peter 4:8

Above all keep your love for one another fervent, because love covers a multitude of sins.

Constant

The constant battle goes unnoticed by the folks all around

They are smiling and fast moving ... like nothing is going on.

Don’t they care they must know ... for it’s always on my mind

Is the world so isolated ... from the folks indifferent to my song?

Often we feel like others understand the turmoil in our hearts

as in many a for-instance we think they know about our falls.

If I know, they must know ... is my prevailing attitude

not realizing I am protected and that God can veil it all.

In defense with a chip on my shoulder, I built a wall around my heart.

A mote is there just in case ... someone infringes on my call.

All alone I man the gate ... deaf to all cries outside.

I am the smarter of my lot ... precious me after all.
