Conscience

Job 27:6           New English Translation

6 I will maintain my righteousness

and never let it go;

my conscience will not reproach me

for as long as I live.

Conscience seems limited by knowledge

It is guided only by what it possesses

It condemns disobedience as it goes

It possibly does not know what it misses

Therefore there is a vast distance

In comprehension as a simple concept

The measure of conscience is on one hand

And the perfection and Holiness in depth

Imperfection as such is made bearable

For God does not judge by what we lack

In knowledge or incomplete understanding

as His Love always protects our back

Limited knowledge fails to judge

All that possible in what ought to be

So many a time it feels just fine

To linger on the best for you and me

Many things are done with the knowledge

But are condemned as habitual sin

By those whose conscience lack the knowledge

That within time must grow within

Parents can do in many things in liberty

If the same things done by kids may be wrong

Are not then there two different standards

For Christian elders and their adopted sons
