If unto death be
might then I surrender'
abandon all of me
release the tether
after all, what is more grounded
than six feet below
underground undoubted
and from which flowers will grow
is that not eternity?
not a death worth living?
to see it come to be
a worthy end to a new beginning
but what if unto life
might then I consider
giving into death alike
to a kind of murder?
if unto brighter horizons
unto vast blue skies
might I then open my lungs
to beathe in beyond what dies?
my heart is quite stricken
for this I cannot deny:
is this what it means to be human?
I want to live almost as much as I want to die
