Concentration

1 Corinthians 14:32-33

32 Indeed, the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets, 33 for God is not characterized by disorder but by peace.

Concentration where do you go

when my mind constantly wanders.

You’re moving so quickly out of sight

as I splash all over the place.

Listening is destroyed

when you leave all of a sudden

and conversations stop in track

when you turn away your face.

I know you want full power

to direct my thoughts.

Even subtle interference

you won’t tolerate.

Even in my prayers

or my bible study

you need to be upfront

and not in second place.

Unless you’re first, you shy away.

You won’t put up a fight.

Your concentration shifts elsewhere

or just moves out of sight

So whatever moves and conquers me,

is in obedience to my will?

Is darkness not involved here

simply proving its might?
