Clueless ... really

Ecclesiastes 1:2-3

Introduction: Utter Futility

“Futile! Futile!” laments the Teacher,
“Absolutely futile! Everything is futile!”

What benefit do people get from all the effort
which they expend on earth?

Clueless

Little do I know and most of that forgotten

Trying to understand the things of no importance

Knowledge that in some form seems ill-begotten

To be used only at times just for appearance

Issues of life are so hidden completely out of sight

Covered by our imagination of rights and wrongs

All throughout history we show this futile right

That we misuse for self to show where we belong

Faceless masses came and went a few names we remember

Some for good and some for bad in this parade of tears

We will join the throng of the helpless and the dismembered

Who struggled through temporal day with doubts and fears

It looked so good “the morning sun” till darkness moved in

Shadows then ruled the lot of the cautious and the blind

Reality in uncertainty embraced the ways and means

Of instinct and its commotion in its “will” to survive

This became the driving force of Freud and his companions

Survival of the fittest driven by blind decaying hearts

Their forgone ideas came to a fake illusionary conclusion

To remove the help and hopeless who’re not doing their part
