This is the state of most people’s mind
Mentally they have closed the blinds
They don’t want to see what is outside
And I continually doubt why
Anyone would want to be blind
Unless they are afraid of what they might find
When they open their eyes
And see all the pain and lies
But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
So you can continue when you don’t think you can fight any longer
It is is important to be aware
Of the things around
So so reality doesn’t scare
Us easily and our hearts don’t drown
In the misery of being behind
In the hypothetical line
That separates ignorance and knowledge
Because being smart isn’t the only way to get to college
You can’t let things pass you by
Even though the evils of life make you want to close you’re eyes
It is important to be open to what may happen
Or your willful ignorance will cause a great tappin
To resonate on your heart and doors
From the youth who refuse to listen to folk lore
Who are looking to the future
And don’t want a tutor
But back to being closed
It can get you hosed
And seduced into the trap of contentment
But consistently not changing can lead to resentment
And stir up anger and wrath
When you come across an open mind’s path
Because closed minds can be very frustrating
Through only a small whole will they do their ratings
And thus their performance may suffer
And when it comes to mental death no other is rougher
You see closed minds chose what they see
So no one knows what they could be
Closed minds should be a disease
And the victims yell oh please
Begging for the pain to stop
As they mentally turn back the clock
Remember their life full of ignorant speech
Unaware of the dangerous lessons that they would teach
To the next generation
But now they pay the price
For their mental insubordination
And as the pain begins to slice
They wish they could do things different
Because throughout life they shunned different
So as the sad tale comes to an end
They realize that sometimes it was necessary to bend
The rules in order to do what was best
Just ask a dying closed mind they can tell the rest
Of the sad story of how they lived blind
Because their can be no greater disease than limiting the mind
So go ahead sit there and keep it closed
As soundly off to sleep I have dosed
