Close the Shade

Close the shade, just a tad peek will do,

because even the dawn blares through,

mind can take so much, only then do you lay

and recycle what’s left of the other day.

Ordinary process for the masses, they too

Know when legs reach the edge, never strew

by the soft brush of fabric, a morning's brew.

Squint goes the lid, brash turns left and right,

Close the shade.

Rise and shine, but we do not wake - Shoo

in comes that ray which beams the room.

Crave imagined but can’t remember,

The shade.
