Clean

Clean

Heb. 10:22 “Let us draw near with a true heart

in full assurance of faith with our heart sprinkled clean

from an evil conscience and our body washed with pure water”.

My heart sprinkled clean ... is that my true longing?

Of my desires I mean ... which are also encircling self.

My flesh that keeps the fire ... always fed and burning

Through self-justification ... and ego, pride all wet.

“A true heart”! What a call ... no guile be found in this one.

I am so glad it did not say “good” ... for that would blow me away.

“Just as I am without one plea” ... now suddenly has new meaning,

and brings the “I am” that’s in Christ ... assurance to the Eternal day.
