Cinderella's Gay

Once upon a time...
There lived a beautiful blonde baby
With skin kissed by the sun
Her black is more beautiful than gold
As the story goes

She grew up with a caring mother
With love and kindness she thrived
Free to breathe and be herself
Even with the struggles of her stepfather
And 3 monster sons he brought along

At age 18
Ella is gay and black
In a world filled with oppression, mistreatment, and racism
Fighting to survive against her own kind
Trying to stay herself in a sea of people
Who want her to change

Going through the motions
The day goes on but her life stands still
Monotony takes over
Repetition sets in
Work, school, rest, repeat

Until our Princess finds her Princess Charming
Love and beauty can be found in anything
Whatever you are
Let your uniqueness guide you
Like every good fairytale
They lived happily ever after
The End.
