Christmas Lights

Those small Christmas lights lit up my whole world

Those lights made me smile for just a short time

THey made time last forever, everything whirled

Little orbs that were bright and made life fine,

Those lights made me warm with a sweet embrace

Comforting me when I needed a break

Their soft green color was my own safe place

They made me feel loved without being fake.

Yet those lights had belonged to another

They had never really been mine at all

If I loved them too much they would smother

Though this won't cause my hopes and dreams to fall,

I would still love those green Christmas eyes

Just to see them would be worth my demise.
